Anyone getting the train to SPURS from SOUTHAMPTON?

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

I am, but I'm a little confused as to which one to get.

I want to meet my friends, who are travelling up from EASTBOURNE, at Clapham Junction to get the 11:22 on to Victoria. As I see it, this involves catching the 10:00 from Southampton Central. However, I have been advised that this train goes via HOVE and therefore takes AGES.

Looking at thetrainline.com I can't see a quicker way of doing it.

Anyone able to help? ???

Sorry why are you going from Southampton .........if you are get a south west trains service to Waterloo they stop at Clapham.

I will be boarding the 11.42 from London Road then the 11.49 to Victoria

Get a direct train from Southampton to Waterloo around one hour then go back to Clapham Junction - trains every 10 minutes Waterloo to Clapham Juction.

If you catch the Southampton - Victoria train you may well die of boredom en route or arrive in London totally pi$$ed up :lolol:

Southampton is where my better half lives. Don't worry, I'll make her move here if things get really serious.

Mmmm, London Road station. Nice area.

10:00 is probably about the right time to get a train, any later and the trains are full of football fans and nowhere to sit cause of everyone else also.
Never get the 5.50 back from Waterloo because it's like a football express and seems like anyone who's been to a game in London or near London is on that train and have to stand most of the trip back.

The 10:00 goes to Waterloo. The Waterloo train stops at Clapham. It takes 1 hour and 12 minutes.

The 9:30 something train to Victoria goes via Hove. No point in getting that.

There is no point in meeting your mates at Clapham if they're going to Victoria. You may as well meet them at Victoria. Loads of trains from Clapham to Victoria.

Get the direct to Waterloo and get the tube. May be a bit more expensive but will be much quicker.
