Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Anyone got any good advice for a really painfull ear infection ?

It feels like someone has forced a tennis ball into my ear and its AMAZINGLY PAINFUL.

I cant get a doctors appointment today, and I fear if DRASTIC steps are not taken I may not be able to take my seat at WITHERS tomorrow.

pour warm olive oil or caster oil into your ear, and then plug it with cotton wool.

Go to the chemist and pick up some decent pain killers, like Nurofen or stronger.

Lie down cos if its bad, it will affect your balance....try for an emergency appointment with your Doctor

You have my sympathy. Ear infections are absolute WANK, cos its a really intense pain right in your head and EVERYTHING.

You'll probably get some eardrops. Just try to keep it WARM (so don't have WIND blowing in it or anything), and wait for the drops and nature to do their thing. There's really not a lot else you can do about it - I've never found anthing that'll give IMMEDIATE pain relief from one of those bastards, but my earaches usually clear up after a couple of days.

Olive oil sounds weird but it does sooothe it a bit.

Lie down with your bad ear side on a hot water bottle

probably be all over by tomorrow

f***ing nightmare though

used to get them quite a lot

Long term tip for the future.

When you have a shower or wash your hair make sure that your ears are dried perfectly. Use tissue/toilet paper for final drying.

Moisture in the inner ear helps set up infections.

Good luck

My kids get them all the time.

Can't you see an emergency doctor? It will linger on all weekend otherwise.

The oil suggestions are a good way of soothing the pain but please if you start getting a popping pain or a stronger throbbing pain DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN YOUR EAR. Seriously.

Chew some chewing gum as well, I forget the reasoning behind it something to do with the movement stimulates something but it really does help.

Ear infections are indeed RUBBISH. Can't you get an emergency appointment at your doctors?

If not I would head down to your nearest chemist and get them to sort you out something to take.

Hope you get better soon.

Its bird flu. I had exactly the same thing. It starts in your ear and then moves to your beak.

Wise words.
And don't worry when you encounter some resistance. Just keep pushing v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.

PRETEND to be really ill and get seen as an emergency then before you leave say, "Oh, while I am here could you have a look at this ear infection I seem to have..."

I had a fit Wednesday morning and was not registered to a doctor in Hastings yet.

Went down to see one and it was full of other people but as soon as they heard I had gone head mental on my kitchen floor they rushed me in, got me registered and checked me out.

I am suspecting that you should not have admitted the above on here....
