For the record, Im not bothered about the user name as I often say Im going for a Sambo when I go for a Sandwich. What does bother me is the moderators ignoring the real issues when they gut so hung up on trivial things.

NSC is essentially self regulating. My practice is generally only to moderate posts when there has been a complaint. And I've not received a complaint about any of this.

munster monch got pissed off with me the other day about merging two threads that were on the same topic. That's what he means by "getting hung up on trivial things". On that occasion there had been several complaints on the board about thread duplication. So it seemed appropriate to do something. Nothing got deleted, by the way.

And it's also worth pointing out that the mods don't have any powers to reject (or approve) user names. That's a function which is restricted to Admin.

For what it's worth, my opinion on the topic of this thread is that Safeway is stirring things up a bit - to see how everyone reacts. That's why I was quick to respond "Dumbo". This sort of thread can sometimes turn nasty, but on this occasion the discussion has been reasonably mature. Sambo will no doubt make up his own mind.
