I'm stuck with a couple of guesses and multiple options so picked a word to reduce the list. Not guaranteed to get me the right answer but might help. I don't use previous word list. Didn't realise there was a rule...

No rules and it's up to you, but if you choose hard mode, you have to stick the greens in the correct place.
That can lead to carnage as seen a day or so ago.
Doing what you did is the "sensible" approach to minimise the chance of failure.
Not many on NSC are sensible

I use the hard mode and don’t use previous words list which wouldn’t matter as I am only competing with the wordle bot and not anyone on here - but I think the Wordle bot is cheating!

Today it also got a 3 but didn’t use all the letters in the 2nd line from it’s first go - it also comes up with really obscure words sometimes like it’s reverse thinking how to arrive at the answer which it already knows and of course being a wordle AI bot, surely it has access to what wordle answers it has in its memory (it never fails!) .

I find the best way to do it is get the right letters in the right places!
When, as in my first three goes today, you don’t get many of the right letters, it’s a bit limiting!
