Sad to report that my run of 300 successful guesses came to an end today on 301st attempt.
Overall average 3.83. Will probably keep going, I still enjoy the challenge.
(And oh, how I am kicking myself - the word never even occurred to me, it was not on my list of possible solutions!)

You need to subscribe to the NYT ‘games’ to get the daily analysis (not the full subscription) - I originally created a free NYT account (which keeps a record of your stats) because I was loosing my streak every time I cleared my cache on my phone. The analysis was free for a few months and then I hit a pay wall. It’s now £3 a month for 12 months - if it goes up next year, I probably wont bother. You also get tips on some of the good starting words (which I ignore because I use a different one every day) and the joy of trying to beat the wordle bot!
