Everyone seems to be getting better at this. It would be interesting to know what % use lists of previous words etc, or just do it off the cuff. Personally I can’t be arsed to look things up.

I can’t be arsed to use lists etc either or thesauruses/AI etc. I have a short attention span!

I literally spend a few minutes knocking it out in my head with a different starter word everyday I do it, which keeps my interest. For starters I often use common pairings of vowels in my head (ie ‘ou’, ‘ea’,), one scarce consonant and two very common ones usually. I then look for common endings on my second guess (but avoiding the ‘er’ rabbit holes).

Apart from that it’s practice tbh.

I don’t know what my average is but it’s probably around 3.5.
