Any news on the Leon story

I really doubt Hart would have scored five this season, let alone play half the balls that have created chances/goals.

I doubt it as well, but to use the argument that Bucky and yourself have done, that without Leon we would have scored 5 goals less and not had the assists is clearly wrong. Someone else would have played and contributed. Leon is not irreplaceable.

Leon Knight is an Enigma

When he plays for you, he can do no wrong, when he plays against you he is a little diving cheating shit.

There is no middle ground with him and that is the problem.

I still recon he is the best crosser in the club, our best chance as a goal poacher and also when on form, our best option up front. The managers he has worked with all have had issues with him, Mcghee, Turner ( Sheff W) Jackson (HTFC)

the thing is do you take him as he is, or try to change him which Turner and Mcghee have tried to do.....Turner tried to play him as a winger also.

Personally I would keep him, but that is a personal choice.

VD had no problems with him and the majority of the goals he scored for us came in the 3 months VD was here with him.

possibly a case of trying to impress enough to be signed permanently

We are half way through the season and he has 5 goals, so if he has the same sort of second half to the season and ends up with 10 that is not a bad return for a team down the bottom from a player who is not an out and out striker.

If Mark McGee were to sign a striker in the transfer window with those suppossedly acceptable stats, what would your reaction be?

True. The difference is that McGhee is doing a good job for the team and the club.

Depends what view you take on that. Same as depends on what view you take on Knight, top scorer and can make things happen.

If we argue that Knights stats of 5 goals is not good enough this season, then McGhee's stats of 3 wins this season is not good enough.

True again. If you are short termist and blinkered you could argue that. Or you could look at the bigger picture, play-off win, survival against the odds and current position 2 points clear of relegation, some great signing (loan and permanent) and argue he's doing a sterling job. :)

But the signings thing has been done to death, yes Reid, Frutos and Carole look like good additions. But then there are the signings of Molango, Turienzo and McCammon, which have not been so good.

Also, yes he got us up, but via the play offs. When Coppell left we were top of that league, 3 points clear with a game in hand.

Yeah but when McGhee took over we were fourth !!! - Bob 'Clipboard' Booker had a spell in between!

Don't forget Henderson, McShane and Currie. And I still think big Mac is a useful player to have in the squad, and its not as if he cost the earth. Molango I'll give you but el Turi, who knows until he plays.

But OK lets ignore that area of success. When Coppell left wasn't the clipboard kid given a run in charge? If it was a no-brainer how did he manage to flop and not get offered the job? And as I remember (and my memeory is shit) we were not top when MM took over.

Remind me, what are we arguing about?

I think we dropped to fourth after the draw with Peterborough (I think) which was McGhee's first game incharge.

A lot of this is old ground, but the pro-McGhee brigade see him as doing no wrong, when of our last 4 managers he seems to make the must blunders, but gets away with it. Whether that shows he is really tatented or just really lucky I do not know.

.

Didn't we get a 4-0 stuffing at home from Bristol City for McGhee's 1st home match?
