Have been on holiday for 10 days so may have missed some updates, but any news on these guys? Seems odd that they have not gone out on loan if no one is interested in signing them. Both could surely do a good job for League 1 or 2 teams?

As a footballer the most frustrating thing must be to be in limbo.

On 'gardening leave' until their contracts expire in June, unless a deal can be done with another club in the meantime.

i think we're right to get rid of sparrow, because even though he can be a useful player we are spoilt in midfield now and need to cut out some of the fringe players. But i always thought vincelot was pretty decent, and would rather see him used as our 2nd choice left back over painter.

Well Sparrow is still very happy to be no. 10 on FIFA 13 according to his Twitter...

Pretty sure that our second choice left (and right) back is currently Inigo Calderon.

I still find it strange that Vincelot is frozen out before Painter. Although as stated, Calderon would (probably) be first choice replacement for Bridge at left back, Vincelot was more than competent in that position, plus he has the flexibility to fill into other positions. If we hit an injury crisis down the line, Vincelot's flexibility could prove useful.

If I remember correctly, it's not about ability with both of those guys, it's about understanding how Gus wants the team to pass and play. It sounded like these two in particular were just not getting it, Gus lost patience with them and frozen them out of the first team.

Run through the video goals for the Southampton game. Matt Sparrow looked OK and he is still training with the team (unlike Vicente as far as I know).

It is not a dig at Vicente. I would like to see him in the team but for an unfathomable reason we seem to do better without him.

I heard Sparrow was off to Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season, sounds plausible ! Might as well call them Brighton reserves :lolol:
