Any Dishwasher / Washer Dryer Operatives?

I was using a bloke I have used before, but he came and took the broken bit off (a door switch - the dish wash didn't think it was closed so would not start) and said he needs to order it. 3 weeks later, not heard from him and he is not answering the phone.

I also have a whirlpool washer Dryer that no longer dryers (although it gets hot and I think it's drying, clothes just come out hot and wet!)

If this is anyone's area of expertise and you Shoreham Beach is in your range, please PM me.

the dishwasher is self explanatory

the washer dryer...if its heating up and stuff comes out hot and steamy, it is either the condenser water valve gone, or a blocked condenser unit.

Mine are stainless silver - do I require a different operative should it go wrong?

Our AEG t/d went wrong, and the insurers Domestic & General simply cancelled the policy with a full refund of premiums, as the part suspected as needed was 'uneconomic' to them.
So we had to buy new again.

A win-win for warranty providers, rather than true insurance.

no. you dont require an OPERATIVE at all....i think you'll find, YOU are the operative.
i just fix it when you OPERATIVES f*** them up.

i worked for hoover for 14 years, we used D&G for our insurance work.if a job would cost over 125 pounds (8 years ago) they would't authorise it.
if a machine was over 5 years old...ie: no parts cover, it was a waste of time having cover

Fab - I'm actually quite capable of fixing my own white goods should they misbehave. But its handy to know although we are in Shoreham!

A warranty is not an insurance. It will not indemnify you. It will however provide a solutiuon to repair your appliance and if not, replace it on a new for old basis.

Thanks for the replies and the PM. As luck would happen the initial operative said the part had come in, so I will give him a few days to get here and fix it.
