This article was in the paper the other day:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/nov/24/how-buy-cheap-supermarket-wine

It recommends the Sainsbury's Taste The Difference prosecco conegliano 2009 at £9.99 - and it's currently on offer at 30% or 33% off in our local store. I've bought a couple of btls but can't vouch for it as not opened yet.

my wife, who's a fan of sparkling wines rates this. Not as dry as the normal cava's you'd get at the same sort of price.

Wont stop me enjoying my christmas though with my wife, kids and rest of my family. Cant wait to see my sons face when he see's the first window on his advent calendar has been robbed when he gets home.

Freixenet Brut Cordon Negro is fine for about £8 a bottle and better than some genuine cheap Champagne or Prosecco imo.

Why not go for some Sussex bubbly (Nyetimber Classic Cuvee from West Chiltington) it may not be that cheap (£25 or so) but a lot less expensive than the equivalent Froggie stuff and nicer IMO....

Available in Waitrose and also my local Post Office - well it is only 2 miles from the vineyard!

Why would you want drink cheap fizz in any case?

Surely its a celebration drink one way or the other - to quote Napoleon:

In victory you deserve it; in defeat you need it
