FFS Prescott put us out of our misery! The work rate in Sussex is rock bottom at the moment! It's beginning to affect the economy!!

According to Two Jags private secretary (David Prout) there is not a formal date for the announcement.

Normally such announcements are notified to Interested Parties at least a week in advance.

A press release is normally issued around 11.00 (with an Embargo time)

I'm not sure exactly what happens with Called-In planning applications.

With planning appeals (which are always initiated by the applicant), the decision is always notified first to the applicant. Indeed, the decision takes the form of a letter to the applicant.

If the same process is followed in this case, the Albion would be the first to be told. Other interested parties would be sent a copy of the decision, but not necessarily simultaneously.

My guess is that there would be nothing to stop the Albion announcing the decision as soon as they know it.

Just to add to that ...

The decision will be more than a simple YES or NO. Reasons will be given. If it is YES, any conditions attached to the planning permission will be set out in the decision letter.

There WILL be conditions. One of them will be that the Stadium can only go ahead if a legal agreement is in place, binding the Club to comply with conditions that will be monitored by the local planning authorities (the City Council and Lewes District Council).

The last few days of the Public Inquiry were spent looking at the conditions that would be subject of these legal agreements (which will also involve other relevant parties, particularly the two Universities, who own some of the land that will be used).

So ... when we get planning permission, don't sound off about "restrictive conditions". These sorts of things apply to ALL planning permissions, including quite small ones.

In my previous experience, interested third parties heard a called-in Public Inquiry first in the media and were never informed personally.

This I did not think was wrong. We were just there (nothing to do with Falmer) to spout opinions backed by "proofs of evidence" but we did not have any "rights" as third parties.

NIMBYs do not have any rights. It is just a public forum where they can spout off their opinions and bring evidence and facts the planners may have overlooked.

So you can expect opponents to spout any old nonsense to attempt to influence the Inspector. This is what happened at the Hoile Local Plan Inquiry.

Any conditions are likely to be reasonable in any case. For instance when Prescott gave permission for one of the railways in North Wales to be rebuilt one of the conditions he put in was that a cliff face on one part of the line was further reinforced than had been planned. I imagine any conditions imposed on Falmer may be in a similar vein.

(Apologies for the sweeping generalisation)

One condition will certainly be that the Club can't start building until they can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the City Council that they can complete the project.

Totally reasonable, and standard for all major developments.
