i must admit i thought it had already been passed. but doncaster rovers new stadium 15000 capacity has been officailly passed and the council have agreed to release the money to build it, after todays meeting.

I dont know if its that worth getting bothered about, northern teams find it so much easier to get stadiums through as...

a) Football is deemed to be a vote winner much more oop north than here and people are far less likely to object, as grounds are rarely these days built in residential areas.

b) These towns are full of 'development' areas and most people would rather have a shiny new stadium than have to drive past a derilict industrail estate with burnt out cars (in Doncasters case).

The fact is OOP north, there are many run down and working class areas sat about doing nothing that also appear ruff or deprived. If someone requests to build a big football stadiumthen it is not really going to get declined!!!
