I'm not attempting to prove anything simply to obtain information. What are you hoping to prove by asking for it by geographical area?
For what purpose?I'm not attempting to prove anything simply to obtain information.
That'll depend on what it shows. Let's leave things there for now.For what purpose?
What are you 'hoping' it will show? That'll depend on what it shows. Let's leave things there for now.
I submitted an FOI request to the Home Office yesterday for information on the scale of knife crime incidents and use of vehicles as a weapon over each of the past 5 years by geographical area. I would imagine the response will be along the lines of "we don't collect such data" or "it would involve a disproportionate cost to provide such data" but we'll see.
I really hope you have a valid reason because having been on the end of specious fishing FOI requests before, it is a massive drain on resources.I submitted an FOI request to the Home Office yesterday for information on the scale of knife crime incidents and use of vehicles as a weapon over each of the past 5 years by geographical area. Yes - that's partly one of the points I was getting at in my posts, although I didn't mention it directly. I have also had to spend hours/days on FoI requests - that we get a cursory 'thank you' for - but never hear anything about again. Even though it's often about stuff we're involved in, and so I know it was just fishing for something they were uncertain about.I really hope you have a valid reason because having been on the end of specious fishing FOI requests before, it is a massive drain on resources.
If someone wants to ask for information they can! What.. why.. is irrelevant, better someone obtains information from a legitimate source than asking Twitter etc..What are you 'hoping' it will show?
Anyway, you can do your own analysis, and you'll probably find they'll tell you that the information is already publicly available, and is therefore exempt from FoI - because you already have access to it.
Crime in England and Wales: Police Force Area data tables - Office for National Statistics
Police recorded crime figures by Police Force Area and Community Safety Partnership areas (which equate in the majority of instances, to local authorities).www.ons.gov.uk
Oh my how to turn a light hearted comment into an insult ..oh well let’s join in are you one of those paper hat brigade that believe everything that MSM feeds youIt's just a news story. You're not one of those tin foil hat brigade that avoid MSM?
Indeed they can. But @Zebedee announced to us that they had submitted the FoI, so it's a fair question to ask what they were wanting the information for (why were they telling us if they didn't want us to think about it?) And then I helped them by providing the information they were requesting anyway - which they could have found for themselves in a few minutes. ONS is pretty legitimate. If someone wants to ask for information they can! What.. why.. is irrelevant, better someone obtains information from a legitimate source than asking Twitter etc..
Oh dangerous to announce that on here, you will be labelledI'm not attempting to prove anything simply to obtain information.
You’ve already asked a copper on this thread how they would know the numberI submitted an FOI request to the Home Office yesterday for information on the scale of knife crime incidents and use of vehicles as a weapon over each of the past 5 years by geographical area. You don't want to be confusing people with references to actual reality. You’ve already asked a copper on this thread how they would know the number![]()

Dunno. He made a broad brush suggestion on the Liverpool car thread early doors that he never clarified. So I guess folk are drawing their own conclusions.Genuine question …. is @Zebedee on the unofficial nsc blacklist of alleged closet racists or anti-Woke folk?
Naively I thought it was a fair OP, as in recent years there’ve been more reports of people deliberately using their cars as weapons against people on foot. In Birmingham Liam Jones was murdered on his e-bike by a driver he didn’t know for no good reason. A murder trial is pending on a guy who mowed down two e- bike riders in a Derbyshire country lane.
Just cnts. Race doesn’t come into it.

Likewise re threads on ignore….best change when that was introduced…interesting point that a Mod can’t use itI’ve 3k threads on ignore, partly to swerve hate and strange people being spiteful. I missed that.
Thanks to @Bozza. Suppose mods don’t have that luxury.
