As someone who worked in the nightlife industry for 10 years - you'd much rather have a crowd off their tits on E than pissed up beer drinkers

I actually did say drugs and drink, and as an old git who lost a brother to drugs and saw a good mate jump off a roof whilst stoned, would say stay off any drugs and excessive drinking.

No, I have never said my posts are a wind up. You’re quoting someone else who misinterpreted, or wasn’t able to fully comprehend/understand for whatever reason, an explanation I gave .

And I never said I support drink or drug driving. Whilst we’re on this subject, have you been drinking? Might explain a few things.

Wow, you really are something. Do you start every morning saying ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall’?

What do they expect? Nightclubs and festivals shut for over a year, the governments own test events and subsequent report show very low risk of covid spread by them taking place but still no sign of anything opening back up

Looked hell of a set up

Nothing to do with clubs being closed, these have been going on for years. It may seem like it's churlish to object until you've sat there with people pissing in your garden, kids awake all night, fences and other parts of your property damaged, along with carnage in terms of parking and litter ...... me, angry, no!

Of course they have - but would you have had so many people attend from as well as far as Bristol, Manchester etc - even local kids if there had been something else to do would they have gone?

I know a few people who went from Worthing yesterday morning and they had never been to an illegal rave before....

I have absolutely no idea what you are on about.

“Red and black for breakfast, red and black for breakfast” a grinning mate of mine chanted, dancing round a Cardiff field at daybreak circa 1990. Best days of our young lives.

only trouble is vast amounts of norbrtts have just rolled over......wonder how long this gathering is accused of being a super spreader event by the argus.

We will also probably have Priti Patel on the telly soon ,telling us these raves are another reason why we need the police, crime, courts and sentencing act.

Unfortunately you won’t get through to some people. They don’t care about the problems they create. Exactly the same type of people who have extended lockdown because of their selfish behaviour….. and of course the first to moan about it.

Update from Steyning: Throughout the morning and now into the afternoon, a steady trickle of knackered-looking young crusties have been making their way back from the Downs into the High Street to bus it back home.

Yes the queues outside Truffles for a coffee and food are very different to the usual. Lots of flared trousers and facial piercings, less shopping trollies and flat caps

Actually there is a press photographer up there today who has said there is not much rubbish left....

So, they didn’t all “drink/drug drive” and tidied up before they left. This is reassuring to know.

The problem with troll accounts is unless you find them amusing, as I do, most people put you on ignore. It must be disheartening knowing that everything you post is only read by those who enjoy reading troll accounts.

And all that Guinness! I’d be asleep by midnight.

*steps out of the darkness* Can I interest you in a little something to keep the unbridled hedonism going for a bit longer?

It’s encouraging that the police have not gone in heavy handed but have seen their role, quite correctly, as one of making sure the area is taken care of and the people are safe. Not bad at all!

The police have done an excellent job and deserve great credit.
