annoying adverts

Anyone on here moaning about UK TV ads being annoying should watch TV in the US for a bit - the content and the volume of ads make even the few watchable programmes virtually unwatchable. Insurance, medical stuff, diet plans, finance deals............all ENTHUSIASTICALLY SHOUTED at you very quickly by someone with impossibly white teeth and a rictus grin.

And then there are the election adverts

The PPI misselling advert is awful and the majority of the adverts on TalkSport are really bad, almost puts me off listening to it!

Was in the Canaries last month. Spanish TV seems to have fewer ad breaks, but JEEZ! when they come on they are interminable! They last about ten minutes, they're all for cold/flu/medical remedies and every single one of them is followed by a full blue screen blurb about not using the product without first reading the instructions, consulting your chemist, running with scissors in your hands etc etc. Rendered most shows and movies unwatchable.
