Did you listen to White & Jordan last week? Jordan, plus a Celtic caller and a Spurs caller seemed very nostalgic about Ange. Promoting a bullshit theory that Levy & Ange met last December to agree that Levy didn’t mind how many times they lost in the PL as long as Ange won the EL. For so many obvious reasons utter tosh, not least the jeopardy that at that moment it was long call to say they’d win it, plus £1.7m per PL place.
Over 3.5 million per Premier League place

Controversial but I’d have taken a poor league season with no relegation worries (which Spurs didn’t have) for a trophy at Brighton.
Definitely but Ange got very very lucky. No Champions League side dropping into the Europa League ? Without that he’d be gone already……. He might still be quite soon.

The same people that said Manure should have sacked Ten Haag to get a replacement in for a full pre season will be saying that Big Ange should have been given a pop at the new season if he does go. Both stunk the place out, so the longer they hang around the better I'd say.
Yep, better they start the season and sack him in October

I don’t think that’s controversial. I think most would.

But would you excuse the manager the poor league position because of the trophy win? Within reason I think we would at Brighton. But 23 points fewer than we got?
We weren’t far off in 2018/19.

Finished 17th playing survival football, a lot closer to the drop than Spurs were. But also made an FA Cup semi, only losing 1-0 to City who should have had a player sent off early doors.

If a couple of things had gone our way in the semi and final, would you have sacked Hoots if he’d finished in exactly the same league position but won the FA Cup? Would Tony have?

What do you reckon most Spurs fans think @Kinky Gerbil ?

For the 4-1 we were in 116 in the corner above the Pride flag which has the advantage of having the Spurs prawn sandwich brigade just above you. As we filed out they were happy clapping the imminent trophy celebrations but they didn’t look best pleased when I wished them congratulations on finishing 17th on my way out.

Basically they seemed happy and angry at the same time. Can’t really wrap my head round it.

That’s a tough one. We weren’t the team we are now back then, so 17th and an FA Cup would have been an incredible season really.

Relative to CH’s budget, the Spurs spend is huge, Ange had a stack of players costing €30m to €65m to play with even with injuries. Yet even Ipswich and Leicester won at WHL.

I can only go by the circles I hang in, to a person they all wanted him gone before the final what ever the result.

Straight After the final 2/3 out of the 20 or so people on our group changed their mind, but 2 have now drifted back to out after the initial high of winning the EL has gone and you look at the season and him as a whole.

The remaining 1 in fan says 10 games and assess, which isn't really a glowing endorsement

Most of the group are season ticket holders and say it's been pretty toxic, with the exception of the Bodo game, the games I've been to this season I would have to agree.

I had major concerns over him from jan last season, which he hasn't overcome.

A Quick Look on Twitter and I think there is a massive divide between ins and outs, but even a decent number of the ins are assess in October, which again isn't a massive show of support.

A question I would ask is if Spurs took Frank, would Brentford even consider Ange as a replacement? I'm thinking no.

That’s a great last paragraph and I’d agree.

One of my oldest mates is Spurs through and through but can’t go to more than a couple of games a season. He loves Ange but hasn’t had to sit through the home atmosphere.

That's the thing, it's easy to be an arm chair fan, I ditched my season ticket just before Covid and with out going all "I'm a better fan" season ticket holders plough thousands in a year, there view is more important than mine.

Ange has gone at the fans 4/5 times this year, which is completely unacceptable

Keeping him would be like United keeping ETH. They won the cup final because Johnson’s shot was so bad he kicked the ball away from goal, it hit shaw on the arm and went in. Should the future of a manager be decided whether Luke shaw armed one in the goal?

That’s not fair. He also had his team so well setup defensively that they kept out Manchester United!

A team only out scored in the Premier League by Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa, Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, Palace (oh that’s not very impressive), West Ham (what, with Potter’s pass and don’t score tactics?) Wolves and Spurs.

Oh, ok sack him.

Absolute CLASSIC Fab. Sounds authoritative and credible. Actually says f*** all. Brilliant
Yeah, far more interesting thing on BBC from Sam Mokbel in the aftermath of the Europa win, saying that he expects Levy to sack Ange. Levy has taken a view that he can’t let what happened at United with ETH happen at Spurs.

Expect the list of replacements will go:

1. Iraola
2. Frank
3. Silva

Will be interesting to see how Fulham do without Marco at the helm.

Have Fulham done well because of Marco Silva or despite him? I only know a couple of Fulham fans but neither would be that bothered if Silva went to Spurs, so long as a replacement was brought in quickly.

I think there is something interesting in the fact that they have previously under Silva heavily overperformed their metrics in the first season back (10th place, 12 points above xPts) - normally this would be a red flag; a manager who is able to get his players to outperform the style he implements. However, in the second Fulham aligned with their metrics (14th place, 2 points above) and this season they slightly underperformed (11th place, 4 points less).

To me, it implies that he is a manager who evolves year on year and would work well in building a longer term project (like he has at Fulham), similar to Frank or to a lesser extent Iraola - it’s clearly the parameters in which spurs are searching.

His style is often lacking though and I can see why a Fulham fan wouldn’t be too sad to see him leave. Personally, I think Fulham are very much a team in his image and whoever they’d replace him with would, by nature of change, be a gamble. Be careful what you wish for as they say!

"Have Brighton done well because of Fabian Huerzeler or despite him? I only know a couple of Brighton fans but neither would be that bothered if Huerzeler went to [insert club], so long as a replacement was brought in quickly"

I've read versions of the above on this forum almost all season on here. Every forum has them
