BBC report loan move

Andy Whing could be heading for Brighton on loan. BBC Coventry & Warwickshire reported the news at 6pm tonight that the Birmingham born right back had gone on loan but at the time of writing, there has been no confirmation from the club or Brighton.

It seems a strange move considering there is no regular cover for David McNamee at right back apart from youngster Liam Robinson who is a first year scholar with the Academy, although Chris Birchall could possibly play in that role after filling in at Crystal Palace when McNamee was sent off .

Sky Sports have reported that Brighton boss Dean Wilkins has been looking at Jean-Marcel Kipre who featured in a private friendly against Le Havre in midweek and may speak to him about a possible contract in the next few days which would rule out the need for the loan.

Got it on the News Now website. Sounds plausible - Micky doing us a favour and getting a young fringe player some games.

When we lost up there a couple of years ago (Stauntons last minute winner) I remember him being very good. He's a bit of flyer and exactly what we need at right back IMHO. Well done Wendy:clap:

Will be interested to see what excuse the "McGhee Apologists" will come up with if we sign these players either on loan or permanently. After all we have to take into consideration "The Withdean Factor" that no one will sign for us because of Withdean.

In fairness to MM he never said Withdean was a problem, in fact he said the opposite, it ws DK who said Withdean was a problem when signing players, at the fans forum ealier this season.

Not to mention the fact that apparently Wilkins has no contacts in the game!!

I agree with you that McGhee didn't bleat on about Withdean that much. But a fair few people on here have done in making excuses about not many players being signed when McGhee was in charge.

I think the word IF is important one. Ill believe it when I see it.

But at least Wilkins seems to be making inroads with improving the squad. He has got Williams in on loan, Whing could be following too. Do not forget the two French players we had on trial last week, both fullbacks, areas that need stength in depth at the Albion. Not bad for a manager who has been fully in charge for two weeks and running the team for a month. Also may I had he has been doing this two men down on the coaching staff.

Good news if it turns out to be accurate.

Im pleased that at least the right noises are being made, But we have had plenty of French trialists before. Whing would be a very good aquisition for the club and fingers crossed we get him.

Does anyone know where that left back ended up?
