And whose form has been wildly erratic since Liverpool won the COVID League?
It is totally unrealistic to suggest that Robertson would choose the Albion over a top Champions League team in Spain, Italy of Germany, or else the megabucks of Saudi Arabia.

Robertson played 33 Prem games in a Liverpool team that romped the league. Hardly "wildly erratic", more like a player who is past his peak but nevertheless still a top quality world class left back.

At age 31 he only has one year left on his contract, he’s unlikely to be offered an extension on top money. Moving on is probably his last career opportunity to take a lucrative contract anywhere.

TBF, he's certainly going to be on a very lucrative contract now - probably the one that he signed three or four years ago as "his last career opportunity to take a lucrative contract" at the time.

Just a year of that to run. And knowing the club are signing first team fullbacks this summer.

Whereas Atletico will offer longer.

He might not get great €€€€ offers when a year older.
