Naylor is really pushing for Cotterill to become manager of our club.
He has even got bloody Harry Redknapp to promote him in his back page headline today.
The Argus poll has him ahead of Booker and Dowie which I find hard to believe.
His long ball game seen at Cheltenham if played here would entice me to tear up my season ticket.
But does he want him here so that he can give him stick for walking out on his beloved Stoke.

I want Cotterill, he's my first choice.

Long ball? Did they get promoted? So he successfully took Cheltenham way above where they could expect to be. That is what it takes to get out of the Third.

That doesn't mean he can't play good football if you give him a better team. Don't forget we were pretty physical in the Third under Adams. Take away Zamora and we would have been kicking our way out of the division.

I would be quite happy with Cotterill. I think he would definately take us up.

I agree with Gritty on this, he's hardly going to come into the Albion and say "Right, just hoof it to Leon".

Why change a winning formula? He's no fool, he's just got big ears.

Cotterill deserted Stoke for Sunderland, why is Naylor trying to promote a player who screwed over his club ?

Cotterill is no more 'long ball' than Adams was. All he did was work with what was available at Cheltenham and what he could afford to bring in. He's actually one of the highest UEFA-accredited coaches in England.

He's my second choice after Dowie. No he probably won't stay but regardless who gets the job I don't think the next manager will be the one who leads as out at Falmer. Even if we get an OK in December there's still a lot of work (and inevitably there will be delays) before a ball is kicked there.

At last, some decent comments on Cotterill. I agree with most people in this thread, just because Cotterill played long ball with Cheltenham Town does not mean he will play it at the Albion. Unless, of course, he comes out and says "I am a long-ball manager".

I would like Cotterill and the only thing I have against him is that horrible accent.

Albion & England forever.

Adams had a long ball repuatation when he arrived, but given the oipportunity to sign a few players, he changed the initial style and gave us legendary days.

Cotterill is one of the few coaches in England to have the UEFA Pro badge, but looking at the list Pardew has one too sadly

Cotterill would be a good choice

Stoke were comfortable in mid table before he made the
mistake of leaving

He could easily take us up and keep us in Division 1 - if he left it would ultimately only be because he was successful and this put him "in the frame" for a better job

No problem with that as that's the way it is with football - you can always gaurantee managers will come and go - and whenever a job comes up there are never a shortage of applicants

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Personally I dont think its got a lot to do with Naylors opinions.
He more or less writes what he is told to write.
Redknapp also gave opinions on other things so my guess is that the interview was done by someone else and Naylor just picked up the scraps in his usual scavenging way.
No, Naylor usually feeds us the shit that others want us to hear, so we can maybe assume that Cotterill is the Arsegas's first choice, I am surprised at Harty however for championing Booker.
I thought he had more sense.
