Yes. I sit nearer the east stand side of the north stand and saw the 18 yard line clearly behind the keeper before he dropped the ball realising that he'd gone out of his area. I looked at the lino who never moved a muscle and D'Urso must have seen it. That alone could have affected the result let alone two decent shouts for penalties.
I accept we should have made more of the chances that we had but sometimes the official's decisions do affect games.

I thought he was definitely out of the area, and as you say his reaction in dropping the ball seemed to confirm it.All those that believe that wanker D'urso's decisions didn't affect the outcome would do well to remember that the keeper went on to make a couple of outstanding saves.

I know it was down to the lino, but two definate corners wern't given in the first half.weren't given, and one that wasn't, was.

from my position in the East Stand there was one iffy penalty shout, one that looked more certain and one that should have been given. The first was the handball, that I couldn't quite see, then there was the moment that the defender almost had Barnes' shirt off and over his head the final one was the defender pulling CMS to the ground right in front of the linesman...that one i have no idea how it wasn't given. it would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch

Stupid to blame the ref! How many Brighton goals did he disallow?

Ah, I would not blame him for the result. I would blame him for constantly making poor decisions.

If the handball was given as a penalty we might have scored.

The deflection for the corner was the worst. 26000 fans saw it. Somehow Andy missed it.

I must have been at a different game because I don't think D'Urso had a bad game and didn't get many decisions wrong but having said that I didn't have a clear unobstructed view of the penalty incidents mentioned. I did, however think that CMS was more intent on leaning into the player and falling over than going for the ball

Had a shocker. Like HKFC said the free kick for Hammond's interception was an appalling decision. CMS should have had a penalty when he was hauled down by the shoulders. He missed two obvious chances to play advantage, one for us and one for them. Every time there was a 50/50 it went against us. The keeper carrying the ball out of the area was marginal. Should however have booked Steele for time wasting and the same for whoever it was who refused to take their throwin in injury time.

D'Urso didn't cost us the game. He was just below the standard you expect of a professional official. He'll always be one of those guys who's only happy if you're talking about him instead of the players.

Pretty much agree with this word for word.

D'Urso's single most ridiculous call, was the free kick he awarded against Hammond, for an excellent sliding interception on the half way line.

This. I don't think I have never gone so mental about a referee's decision in my life.

No contact, wasn't two-footed, I didn't think it was excessive, brilliant interception in my book.

Felt like running on there on several occasions today and giving him a Kirkland, he deseerved it and more, prick. Disgrace to the game. Hope he has a car crash his way home

Christ, I know Durso isn't the best ref but to say something like this is way over the top.

If it's the incident I'm thinking of (half way line in front of the dugouts), the foul was given for the follow through on the player passing, not for hammond's interception.

I think if the positions were reversed and they were given against us, we'd probably be disappointed.

Barnes shot did strike the hand of the defender but he was only a yard or two away and not much he could do to get out of the way.

D'Urso didn't lose us that game - lack of quality and poor decisions in key attacking areas lost us that game.

Completely correct us losing had absolutely nothing to do with D'urso.

Booking Greer for something only known to himself.

He's the referee. If he sees or hears something that contravenes the laws of the game, should he not act on that, or is he only supposed to deal with things that the whole stadium sees?

Greer was booked for dissent, I believe, in which case neither you nor anybody else on this board can possibly know what happened. Of all the things to moan about, that's arguably the most ridiculous. If it was dissent, then it's Greer's fault, nobody else's.

Indeed. I want to know why there aren't threads entitled "Barnes/Hammond/Crofts/Mackail-Smith cost us that game", on the basis of the chances they missed. Hammond and Crofts missed from right in front of the goal, FFS. What's more impactive on the result: those four missed chances or a possible penalty??

To sob "Andy D'Urso doesn't like us" sounds pathetic- how many bad decisions (and for every bad decision, there's an opponent who thinks it's a good decision) do you think he makes, every single week, against every team in the league over the course of a season? Does he not like any of them? Perhaps he just HATES football, what do you reckon?
