Andy D'Urso does not like us one bit!

The Blinker Brothers who sit in front of me were mentally berating the lino for not giving a corner.
Instead of watching the replay and clearly seeing the ball come off CMS,

D'Urso's single most ridiculous call, was the free kick he awarded against Hammond, for an excellent sliding interception on the half way line.

We weren't going to get anything when that wasn't given.

I was directly in line with that, with nothing to block my view, the lino had an identical view.
Shocking decision, the defender had both arms around CMS' neck.

Same. Absolute stonewall.

Andy D'Urso unfortunately performed as he always does, whenever I see his name down as the referee you know what is coming, inconsistency and an inability to get things right, then makes things up to try and balance out.

However he didn't effect the result overall we should have scored.

I also think its about time that the rules were changed. I get fed up everytime a forward runs into a defender either deliberately or because it turns into a defender who has been static. A case in point to-day Emnes into el-Abd half way line, and of course its a free kick to Middlesbrough.

How about giving a free kick the other way.

Totally agree on this one. Hammond got so much of the ball it went 30 yards up the pitch, the Boro player was barely touched. If Durso thought is was a foul it should have booked Hammond for the way he flew into the tackle, obviously winning the ball fair and square.

I agree with Bozza.

I don't think D'Urso made anywhere near as many incorrect decisions as the fans were suggesting. Of the penalty claims the only one I thought we had a shout with was a push on Barnes, but they are the sort that are rarely given in the box. I thought some of the free kicks we did get were soft. He didn't let the keeper get medical attention when he was clearly making a meal of it. The handball, while I admittedly called for it instinctively, I immediately changed my mind because it was so close, his arm was by his side and he had no chance of avoiding it.

I sat down the bottom for the handball, and to me it looked like he had his arm out...

For anyone in the north or west, did their keeper handle the ball outside the area?

Yes. I sit nearer the east stand side of the north stand and saw the 18 yard line clearly behind the keeper before he dropped the ball realising that he'd gone out of his area. I looked at the lino who never moved a muscle and D'Urso must have seen it. That alone could have affected the result let alone two decent shouts for penalties.
I accept we should have made more of the chances that we had but sometimes the official's decisions do affect games.

Had a shocker. Like HKFC said the free kick for Hammond's interception was an appalling decision. CMS should have had a penalty when he was hauled down by the shoulders. He missed two obvious chances to play advantage, one for us and one for them. Every time there was a 50/50 it went against us. The keeper carrying the ball out of the area was marginal. Should however have booked Steele for time wasting and the same for whoever it was who refused to take their throwin in injury time.

D'Urso didn't cost us the game. He was just below the standard you expect of a professional official. He'll always be one of those guys who's only happy if you're talking about him instead of the players.
