With M/P away on England duty,Andrew Hodd looks safe to retain the 'Gloves' However should Prior be dropped by Englan next season ( and i don't think he has been offered a central contract ? ) What would you like to see Adams & Robinson do ? For me i would keep Hodd,he has done a fine job. :albion2:

Difficult one. Prior would want the gloves. There is certainly room for the both of them batting, but would either be keen to play outfield?

I really thought we were going to pay a heavy price, having let Ambrose leave, but Hodd has been nothing short of remarkable.

Aside from that, I see that Warks are in danger of facing the drop!

Hodd is a far better keeper than Prior. Unfortunately, Prior is a victim of the let's- find-another-Alec Stewart syndrome. He's not quite good enough as a batsman or a keeper to play for England. Ambrose was always better as a keeper. Moores has landed Sussex with a problem. Personally think that Hodd should be our keeper and that Prior should be asked to play as a specialist batter to improve his technique. Doubt whether he'll buy it though.

Prior needs to improve his keeping at international level but for Sussex I've hardly seen him put a foot wrong. He could definitely play as a specialist batsman but then who do you drop? Your just wasting him in that case. I don't no why everyone says Hodd's a better keeper anyway, he could hardly keep against India could he?

Prior all the way for me

Rumour is Prior won't get a central contract. Would probably lean towards Prior playing for Sussex (especially in one day/Twenty20).

Nice problem to have though.

Is the correct answer and would be surpised if Adams though differently. I remember Adams saying that the gloves were Priors when we were on sky a couple of months back.

Prior to play as a specialist batsman and Hodd to keep. Prior used to not like keeping anyway, so I don't think he'd mind not keeping.

One day -

Nash
Prior
Wright
Goodwin
Adams
Yardy
Hodd (wk)
Rana/Mushy (whoever we keep)
Martin - Jenkins
Saqlain
Kirtley

ambrose was the better keeper too - didn't seem to matter back then, so dont think it will matter too much now
