Not saying there should be no minnows, but fewer of them.
A pre-qualifying competition with the minnows would help them learn how to win which would aid their development a lot more than the existing system.
The current system, with the odd exception, leads to terrible games of football with usually the minnows getting pumped. It’s been that way for years.
Reducing the number of qualifying games would also (in theory) allow elite players to take a break.Or maybe you think that’s not important ? I would say it is to maintain the quality of the premier league.

I think England play enough games as it is.

The players should have been having a break, and the likes of Andorra should have to pre-qualify reducing the need to play stupid games like todays.
I am sure the England players will be vilified but they Shouldn’t be judged on a game played in June in a non tournament year.

Doubt the ICC is as corrupt (and bribable) as FIFA I would suggest
