I've been to The Goldstone once before about six or seven years ago now. I'm not even sure it was called The Goldstone at the time.

@Deano's Right Foot won four places in a competition and kindly asked me along.

It was a genuinely very decent experience.

I remember the hostess showing us to our table, casually remarking, “Drinks are included…” then pausing for effect before adding more loudly, “…including spirits!”

As it turned out, I'm not sure we had any spirits at all, but we got through a ridiculous amount of red wine.

The food was also very good.

It's something I've always said people should consider who'd like a nice experience for a special occasion at the Amex. The Category B/C pricing isn't too bad at all, particularly if you have a similar fondness for red wine!

Don't really see the issue. It's not as though it's depriving other fans of opportunities to watch games. If people with money want to spend it on watching football in relative luxury, that's up to them, isn't it?

No different to people paying to upgrade flights, or stay in five star hotels rather than four.

Agreed. It's money to the club and helps keep the regular ticket prices down.

One of the many benefits of the Amex is the choice it offers. With a season ticket you can enjoy top football for around 20 quid a game with a season ticket or enjoy a luxury option for several hundred a game with many options in between.

Yeah I did the East one for Saints last season. Food not bad, unlimited drinks obviously great, pre match talk from Booker & Mullers was slightly doddery. Overall good, but I wouldn't have done it if I'd paid myself.

Highlight of the evening was seeing Tyler Dibling in action

It almost as if the 90 minutes of football is getting in the way of an afternoon of boozing.

Not for me, but for those that can and want to splash the cash. seems ideal.

I did the full hospitality when I took the wife to her one and only Ablion game. When she was recapping the afternoon to a friend, she turned to me and said “who was that sleazy guy in the cheap ill-fitting suit?”…it was Gary Chivers.
