Agreed, Journeyman as a replacement for Ulloa, a top Championship striker, for me

That whole season was as near to a complete fiasco as Albion have been under Tony Bloom

Bought at the end of a transfer window when other striker options hadn't happened.

Surely it has to be Shane McFaul who was signed to ensure Dick Knight met his 5 signing promise

Came here to say exactly this. We literally signed him at the last minute to make good on a foolish promise Dick Knight made.

Not a player and technically not a buy, but employing Martin Hinshelwood as manager so we didn’t have to cancel the press conference we’d called was absolutely mental too.

We can point to signings that don’t work out, but that is not the same as a panic buy.
Although Ali J didn’t fit the bill , he did make a lot of appearances for us , I believe he worked hard and scored a couple of beautiful goals . Just not the thing at Premiership level.
