If you wanna get STONED I recommend the Grasshopper (I believe there are two now) it's about 10 minutes walk from the station and is well nice.

SanFrancisco is a interesting spot - on Zeedijd (left at Centraal Station end of Warmoestraat) opens around midnight - don't go in sober

There tends to be an early and late crowd plus the tourists who are always out. But probably best to start around 22:00. I think San Francisco closes around 05:00 on a weekend. Most Dance Clubs are around Rembrandsplein

Vrankrijk, Spuistraat 216. The best of Amsterdam's remaining squat bars and boasts the lowest prices for beer in Amsterdam. Ring the buzzer to enter. From 10pm

Sound Garden, Marnixstraat 164, Jordaan. Alternative grunge bar, Lots of people and noise, with a canal-side terrace as a retreat.

possibly for the dance clubs - i never go but the places I've mention you could wear a toad costume or gerbil and still get in
