I feel the same way about Floyd Mayweather as I did Sugar Ray Leonard. Genius technical fighters, brilliantly managed, but neither rank amongst my favourites. To have a chance of beating Mayweather you need to slow him down, the obvious way to do this is to rough him up inside and throw plenty of body shots. Hatton and to a certain extant Alverez were not allowed to get anywhere near him by the referees, without a cry of stand back. On home territory, he simply can't be beat.

Hatton Vs Mayweather was far from a mis-match.

I've been lucky enough to be training regularly with Ricky over the last 6 months or so, and have got to know him really well. So i do try to not be too biased when giving my views about Ricky.

Joe Cortez, the referee of that fight, took any chance Rick had in that away. And he did have a chance. I'm not saying he would of won however, Ricky does not think that either, but I'm sure it would not of ended the way it did. Ricky and Billy knew that he couldn't beat Floyd by boxing in range or even keeping out of range, so their tactics were to stick on his chest. Perfectly leagal in Boxing. However, Cortez would call 'break' every time Ricky got close, leaving him with no tactics, which ultimately frustrated him and caused him to steam in and go for that big punch.

First 6 rounds of the fight Rick caused Mayweather a load of problems. Floyd himself has told Ricky he had him worried.

That said, i dont believe Ricky would of won with a different ref. Floyd is different class to everyone else in Boxing today. He can't be beat, simply because he cant be hit. A technical genius. IMO, the only way he will ever lose, is by being beaten at his own game, or ofcourse, if he goes on for too long.

As for Khan, not a chance. Why is he getting this fight? Would prefer to see Danny Garcia getting the shot a Floyd, with Khan fighting Mattysse. Another fight i see him losing. His team know they wont win. But he's going to earn around £6 million, do they really care?

Wasnt there the issue of questionable blood transfusions?

Ive never seen it proved that it didnt give Pac Man an unfair advantage.
You've never seen it proved that Mayweather hasn't gained an unfair advantage through doping. Or any other fighter.

I completely agree. Floyd was doing some weird yoga, feet forward and leaning back so he was out of range.

Likewise, but it would have been a different fight if the ref wasn't on Floyd's side. And to be honest, however unlikely, there would have been a chance for Ricky, as there tends to be in boxing.

As for Khan, not a chance. Why is he getting this fight?
Because Floyd likes an easy pay day.
US sport often seems to have a different view on drugs to the rest of the world;

Indeed they do. Like when they had a load on drugs in the '84 Olympics, but have kept quiet about it.

Not that theres anything wrong with that. In fact, thats one of the things that make Floyd great. He was, however ducking below the waistline a lot in that fight, something that Cortez should of punished him for. There was also the incident which he turned his back on Rick, causing a right hand to be thrown towards the back of Floyds head and even though there was no contact, a point was deducted from Ricky without a warning.

Not all Refs/Jedges side with Floyd though, one of the judges has Mayweather/Canelo down as a draw! :lolol:
