Amiga 500 (+ half meg upgrade) vs. Atari... well?

I'm in the 500 camp... what a machine that was... huge, like some kind of escapee from NASA HQ, but the games... I mean they blew everything that had ever been away.

I give you Cannon Fodder!

I had a 500+, hours of fun. Formula One Grand Prix, Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer. Oh, those were happy days.

Sensi Soccer or even Kick Off 2 or even Premier Manager 2... Here I come... quick go on pinball dreams first though!

I've got a version of sensi soccer (in the trenches, or something) where the ball is a grenade and after a wee while it starts to flash and explode, the idea being you kill off the opposition before they you... God they don't make em like that anymore!

The Amiga 500 wiped the floor with the Atari ST, it ripped its head off and spat down its neck, it pulled down the ST's trousers in a public place and then pointed and laughed at it, it got off with the ST's girlfriend - IN FRONT OF IT!!!

And what did the ST do in reply, geekily put up its hand and said "Er... I'm midi compatible..."

Wings of Fury? I frickin loved that game. I had a copied version that always crashed so I never got to complete it.

I loved the little quotes after a mission
"there is honour in victory, honour in defeat and sometimes honour in just staying alive"

I had one the day it was released upgrading from my Vic 20. Loved it played it that much the internal drive went faulty and would not allow me to put a disk in if it was inside the case. Had to take it out and make it an external drive.

Was that the game were you had to land on the ship at the end or to fuel up?
If it is I could never land the dam thing
Speed ball was the nuts and cannon fodder I even played the demo to death before I copied the game.

I also got a mate that still uses the ST to make music on.

Amiga is the daddy. add Populous and Desert Storm to previous list. Speedbal2 and Cannon Fodder were and are two of the best games ever. ive tried emulators, but its just not the same without the oldschool massive microswitch joysticks.
