Its been gradually deteriorating for a while now, I can remember having a grizzle about this exact thing at least a couple of years ago. I've no idea how much those corrugated plastic roof panels are to replace, but TB clearly doesn't feel its a priority and its his money tbf.

Its surprising how much they've faded though. Huddersfields are still blue, although I dunno if their roofs are transluscent, or if they've had a spruce up. This pic appeared with an article just after they'd secured promotion.

How do you know that picture was recent at the time?

Perhaps we can get the roof sorted at the same time as getting the North Stand expanded...Oh! has that expansion been mentioned on here?

Top of the police box (? - that little control room thing that over hangs the west end of the north stand) could do with a good wash, too. Probably a thorough sweep would be enough.

I did the stadium tour (again) today with my daughter and the tour guide there said it gets cleaned three or four times a season and has just been cleaned in the last week or so.
That being the case. I’d imagine there’s no chance of it becoming blue again without a full re-lay.

Ours has been bleached by sunlight, and then it becomes dirty with mould etc. So yeah even with a clean it will never be blue again. Needs entirely re-fitting.

I reckon we should install solar panels on it.

Apparently Galatasaray saves €400k in energy costs by doing it.

That would pay James Milners wages.
I was surprised we didn't do that from the outset. I assume the electrical infrastructure is sufficient to cope with megawatts of electric generation a week.

Did you happen to take any photos around the stadium? I heard they have already started work on the north east corner which I assume is where the police box is going. Any other developments?

I went on a tour yesterday too. Couldn’t see much work being done on the northeast corner but my seat in N1E was under scaffolding
I assume that scaffolding and the netting on the roof is there to enable fitting the new screen that will hang from the roof (if the drawings we saw on the club website are correct).

Doing the tour again on Saturday for the first time since a pre-opening tour in 2011. No spoilers please, but was it good? Anywhere to get a snack these days (like old Dicks Bar).
