Did anyone else think on Saturday that the pitch is looking in a bit of a state even for this time of the year. There seemed to be alot of sand on it and given there hasn't been that many games played on it is looking the worse for wear. Does anyone think this could hamper our style of football, not sure if Saturdays performance was down to the pitch ie winning ugly, but it is something worth thinking about.

Specsavers for you. And your pitch that looks the best at this time of year is Blackpools is it? Amex pitch still in great condition apart from a few worn places where the warm ups take place.

Agree Blackpools is worse but was just thinking ours looked better this time last year. PS Don't need spec savers because Im partially blind Im not really just wanted you to feel bad.

Where are you sitting?

I sit in the Upper West, and I think that from such a lofty position it accentuates any thinning patches on the pitch. I'd imagine from lower down the pitch looks pretty lush still.

Also, it doesn't seem to be playing badly, the bounce and roll of the ball is pretty true.

Im second to last row in WSU so you maybe right about it looking worse from right up in the heavens.

The area down the west wing between the half way line and the south 18 yd line looks a bit worn. I thought that those big heat lamps were for making it grow or is that just for growing the cannabis.

Spooky I started a thread about 30mins ago saying exactly this, but then chose not to post it as I thought I would get slated.

I agree though the pitch is no where near as good as it was last season, still a decent surface though.

Edit once again right towards the back of the WSU.

Did you watch the football league show?

Ours looks better than nearly all of the others. Blackpool's is a disgrace, and a few others looked dreadful.

It definitely looked a bit ropey from where I was - both myself and the guy next to me commented on it before the game

By the seaside in West Somerset
It has been consistently cold for a few weeks now so even with the lamps grass wont grow but hopefully theey help avoid root damage and a few degrees rise in temperatures will see the pitch nearer its best.
Way better as it is than most pitches - the usual goalmouth bare patches and thin where the warm-ups take place.

If it is for the cannabis I wish they would stop letting Bruno have it.
