Alex Alex Dawson oo! oo!
Primary data is fact
We currently use the Mill Road P&R on matchdays and intend to do so next season.
This season, with Withdean gates of 8,000ish, Mill Road was often full well before kick-off and with attendance at the Amex likely to be in excess of 20,000, the situation at Mill Road is not going to improve.
Where will the Mill Road "overflow" traffic be directed to by the P&R stewards?
1) On street parking - eg Mill Rise, Bramble Rise etc? A short walk along the footpath would allow ready access the P&R buses.
2) To the Race Hill P&R (if approved) via the A27/Falmer interchange? If so, the impact of increased A27 eastbound traffic flows from Mill Road on the predicted matchday congestion at this interchange seems not to have been considered in the Bennett's Field planning application?
3) To the Race Hill and/or much smaller capacity Mithras House P&R's via the city roads - ie Coldean Lane, Lewes Road etc?
4) A combination of 1-3?
5) Somewhere I haven't thought of?
