I was at the ground at 8:15 pm today and the sun was going down behind the North Stand. Surely this should be setting behind the West Stand? Any answers appreciated

Indeed as has been discussed many times the stand names bear no resemblance to the compass headings.

Surely it would only set directly westwards at the equinox? As its considerably after, it would set somewhat northwestwards.

It was a deliberate homage to the Goldstone wasn't it? Name the stands at the Amex after the way the Goldstone was laid out? Other people will know better than me on this one though.

Designed so the largest stand was facing away from the Sun at 3pm. And yes orientation is slightly off due to People wanting the North to be behind the goal.

Have to say slinky this did make me chuckle.
Apologies if this has been discussed many times before but have only been on NSC since April.

Can't they just rename the North Stand the Northerly Stand and just name the other stands after Albion legends, eg Webb, Mullery and Ward.
