Yeovil pass the ball back to Plymouth after a player was injured but the pass was overhit and went in.

Gary Johnson then orders his team to stand back and let Plymouth score as the referee was not allowed to disallow Yeovils goal!

Lee Johnson then scored two identical free kicks to complete his hat trick and win Yeovil the game.

Marvellous sportsmanship scenes.

Yeovil v Plymouth last night!!!!!

A Yeovil player was injured so Plymouth kicked the ball out. From the throw in a Yeovil player lobbed the ball 45 yards to the Plynouth keeper, who missed it and Yeovil scored!

From the resulting kick-off the Yeovil players then let Plymouth trot straight through and score without attempting to tackle him!

Top sporting behaviour!

You can't. The decision would be a goal kick. However, I believe the keeper went to catch it and it went through his hands and it must have touched him on the way into goal. Yeovil should still be given a mighty bit of credit for sportsmanship.

Didn't the throw in go to another Yeovil player who was then allowed to kick it to their *oops* goalkeeper?

What's the betting the FA charge Yeovil with something or other-disrepute or something similar?

That's what I thought, so as you said the keeper must have touched it.

Didn't Robbie Fowler get a FIFA/UEFA award a few years ago for sportsmanship after he tried to stop the ref sending off Seaman. I hope Yeovil get the recognition they deserve.

I've seen a the same thing happen in a reserve game, but never in a first team competitive match. Always thought Lee Johnson looked good when he was with us, shame we never gave him more of a chance.

It is shit though.

The referee should be allowed to apply common sense.

Had this been a league game or a cup game where away goals count, one of the teams may have been screwed.

The ref should have been allowed to disallow it.
