Just read this in the Argus;

Joel Lynch's hopes of staying in the squad following his promising debut at leftback against Southampton have been dashed.

The 18-year-old is ineligible along with fellow young prospects Tommy Elphick and Dean Cox.

Lynch and Elphick played earlier in the competition for Bognor, Cox for Eastbourne Borough.

None of them would have made the starting line-up but at least two would probably have been on the bench

Now I know these are youth teamers, but it does seem a tad short sighted to allow any of your players to get cup tied whilst on loan. After all you might need them at a later date.

Villa did not allow Henderson to play in the League Cup for us, in case they needed to use him in the competition.

So well done whoever allowed this to happen.

Couldn't agree more this is rank bad administration or mangement depending upon who gave the approval. I can't possibly see what advantage to the Albion could be gained by letting these players play in the qualifying rounds...
