Depends on what you mean by nursery club.

United already have a nursery club in the form of Royal Antwerp, a relationship that does not seem to be very successful.

I don't hate Man Utd, I hate what they stand for...

I would be in two minds about being a nursery club. It would be great to have young players of high calibre coming to play for us, but at what cost? I don't think our youth academy would produce as many decent youngsters if their path was to be blockedc by other players coming in williy-nilly.

Besides I would prefer Arseanl players - they are flairtastic!

Wouldn't bother me, in away its like last season when we had mcshane on loan. No one seemed to mind he was a united player when he scored at shelhurst

If this had to happen, I'd far rather it was with Arsenal than ManUre.

Exactamundo, everyone hates Man U untill one of their players scores for us against a more probable rival. Its like another thread on here saying Man U are killing the Game but what would those same fans say if we had a rich benefacter say...urm...Alex Ferguson wanted to buy a club and invest millions into the playing side....would they not agree to that?

not for me, would hinder the development of our own players. 1 player on loan for a season is a whole lot different from 3 - 4 different players every season, gives no real identity to the team.

I'm nowhere as anti Man U as i used to be basically because its anyone to beat Chelsea to the league but that is a different subject. Think the idea of nursery clubs is a bit wrong in the scheme of things doesn't really give you any basis to move on to would always be a lower league club who can say "well he played his first game here" to any future international player but without actually moving up the leagues which is what football is all about

I wouldn't want to be tied in this way. Perhaps its my age but to do it is kind of a tacit acceptance that we'll never ever be a bigger club again.

I am still holding on to that dream so I wouldn't want to be a formal nursery club for anyone, thanks very much.

Otherwise you might just as well have done with it and start calling ourselves Man Utd reserves.

Just a reminder, Andy Walsh whose now chief at FC United stood up and spoke very supportively of the Albion and its struggle when IMUSA (ind. Utd. supporters) sent a minibus full to the fans united match at Chester a few years back (think it was a Friday
2-2 draw)

We may be a bit crap this season, but the one good point is seeing the likes of Cox, Rents, Robinson, Fraser, Lynch, El Abd, Hammond and Mayo in the team, and they all have come through the SUSSEX ranks.

Dennis and Lois, you're right of course a lot of Man U fans were and still are supportive of the plight of smaller clubs. I do remember the Man U representative at the Chester away match when supporters of many clubs did a circuit of the Deva stadium and we were busy chanting to Mr Murdoch "you can stuff your premiership up your arse"

Wasn't that for Chester (Fans United Night)?

Didn't see many of them (any?) for the original Fans United when it was shit or bust time for the Albion. Ask any of the Mancs about us and most couldn't give a damn-those that know that Brighton has a League team.
