Most of us agreed that he did look a useful player even if it was in the division below where we are.

I think he has only ever played for us in this division.

I thought it was a right coup when we got him, even saw a couple of letters in 442 claiming he should be in 50 most promising players outside the Prem going on his early season form.

So if it was you who had played well last season, expressed you desire to fight for your place and seen a lot of the midfield disappoint or get injured and you still don't get your chance after a year do you think you would still be bothered. I reckon I would be so demoralised by this point I wouldn't give a shit.

If he'd played well and stood out in the reserves I'd agree with you. I haven't seen the reserves playing this season but I also haven't seen any reports on here or elsewhere that he's had good games. It must be McGhee's fault, which you and Kinky seem to be suggesting, is not the answer. A player needs to prove the manager wrong. OGH, Reid and to some extent Kerry have done that by playing well in the reserves and getting a recall. Nicholas, as far as I'm aware, has done nothing of note in the reserves all season so why should be picked for the 1st team?

But Kerry put some woefull showings for the stiffs as did Mccammon, Jarrett to name just three yet got recalled

Thinking about it, I think you are right  and as I said before I find it strange he hasn't been in contention.

What I have never understood with Nicolas was that when he came here he looked like a midfielder that was good on the ball, but also willing to take the ball forward, but he seemed to get turned into a crab.

Don't care if he plays like a crab at least we will have the ball, and as long as we have the ball the other team can't score. Thats how all the great team play, it a basic fact in football the longer you keep the ball the better chance you will have to win.

Because when he did get a couple of chances due to injury this year he done ok, only to be bombed out again for no reason. Also he is what Cantona might call a water carrier, he doesn't do anything flash but from what I have seen has the quality to help hold our midfield together. Plus the rest of our midfield has looked so dyer why shouldn't he be given a chance.

I don't think he is innocent, I have heard his attitude hasn't been great at times, but nothing compared to Knight who got far more chances than him. I think MM hasn't got the best out of him which is a real shame.

Yep - but then again Mcghees hoof ball style has got Brighton to this stage of the season with out any relegation threat..... o hang on.

Early season we played really attractive football but didn't get the points and McGhee was crucified for that as well.

How many ways are there of saying MM hasn't got the tools to do the job at this Skint club, whatever style of football we try and play?

Dont believe many people had ago at mcghee for attacking football - its results based and the attacking style was picking up points - hoof ball isnt, and it wont in league 1

But early season games do not matter.

Bit simplistic, and I well remember the debate on this. MM tried something different, it didn't work because of our inexperienced attack and lack of a Championship striker, so we reverted to a more defensive line up. Imo it was worth a try and resulted in some really exciting football. Mcghee is damned by some of you regardless of what he does. The bigger picture is that we were likely to struggle and I applaud MM for trying to change the style, a couple of draws turned into wins and a good striker and it could all have been so different.

I hope he trys the same type of football, early on, next season as I believe the youngsters are that much more experienced and the opposition less classy. You, however, are on record as saying you'll give him no credit even if we walk the league so continue to spit bile if it makes you feel good.

I still think Nicolas is a decent player and would like to have seen him in the team regularly when Oatway got injured. Obvioulsy McGhee is not impressed with what he sees if he won't pick him, but I think he could have done more of a job for us this year.

But then you could argue is indecisiveness on formation and players has cost us.

I just hope he is not here to start our next league campaign.

I reckon either McGhee has decided he doesn't like him anymore and because ofthat won't even bother trying him or Nichols just forgot how to play football. I'm very forgetful, I don't see why that can't have happened.
