Dont like them either but sending off was disgrase and they had so many chances before that incident, would rather of seen 11 v 11 after the penalty,as a football purist.

The comments about Taylor were disgraceful - especially from such an influential and well respected manager. Ferguson really is a twat.

The stupid thing is that from the highlights the tackles on Man U weren't at all dirty, they may have been clumsy or hard, but they seemed to be mostly shoulder barges. And then of course Rooney made the worst tackle of the game by a country mile, but Ferguson missed this. Grr.

When sending someone off for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, the referee has to take into consideration:

1) The distance between the offence and the goal
2) The likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
3) The direction of the play
4) The location and number of defenders

Not sure "the last man" thing is actually true anymore.

The Ronaldo incident with the shoulder charge was a definite penalty though. Any manager would go apeshit about such a dreadful decision.

Delighted they lost but fergie has a point imo.

Maybe, just maybe though he should concentrate on his superstar players inability to put the ball in the net after completely overrunning Pompey for 95 minutes, instead of whinging about the referee.

Okay, maybe the Ronaldo incident was a penalty, but it wasn't given. Utd had a zillion other chances to score but blew it completely. Why not rant at Rooney and Tevez for not converting their opportunity, or Carrick, or Ronaldo (about 3 times), or Nani, or Anderson etc etc

Alex Ferguson is a very good manager I have a lot of respect for him.
But he is a very bad loser.

The more I see it shown on TV the more I am convinced that Man U goalkeeper did not touch Baros at any time , he attempted to get both the ball and/or the player but got neither so not a penalty.

Who cares? , Its just another one of those things which happens in football except there were a load of cameras at the match.
Can you imagine the media attention if that Gillingham ref made those decisions against the likes of Arsenal or Man u?

I think Fergie had a lot to be aggrieved about - but it wasn't the ref's fault that Carrick didn't put the ball over the line, that James made a brilliant save, that the Pompey defence made any number of superb blocks, and that United players missed all the other chances they had.

The ref made a rod for his own back when he didn't book Diarra in about the first minute for virtually putting Ronaldo into the dugout. Then there was the blatant penalty turned down - and even though I would have given the Pompey one, there's no doubt that Baros did that very clever, Batistuta-like thing of leaving of the trailing leg out to catch the keeper.

Fergie is a terrible loser, but so is Wenger, and so is Mourinho. There is a common factor - they're all really successful managers. Grant is not, and might as well be generous as he'll soon be out of a job.

There's nothing stylish about blaming everybody not connected with your beloved ManUre for every defeat they suffer. He's been doing it for so long that it has become f***ing tedious. The Taylor comments were disgraceful and the suggestion that Ronaldo needs 'protection' is a f***ing joke. Why? Is football not a man's game anymore you asshole?

I long for the day when he retires because I'm sick and tired of listening to the moaning, vindictive twat whenever they lose. It's never down to the other team playing better.

His support for us during the Falmer campaign was fantastic but he will always be a whingeing Scottish twat in my eyes. Just f*** off and retire-we're bored now.

You have got a point there.

Moreover, how many times have United benefited from decisions and things that went in their favour? Loads, so they really should cut the yak and say what EVERY other manager says; "things even themselves out over the course of the season".
