What is getting on my tits is they keep going about how many years ferguson has spent at Man Utd, why dont they talk about Dario Grady at Crewe as well who has spent 20 years with the club.

Im going to email the BBC about this, there is not enough feature on smaller clubs, all they go on about is premiership, premiership, premiership.

I know he gets up peoples noses, but Fergusson has done 1000 games at the very highest level, and it has been a long long time since anyone did that, he has a talent that perhaps Gradi doesn't have.

The reason is that Ferguson has won the Premiership, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup winners Cup. Dario Grady has won Fcuk all of note on the domestic stage. I find it laughable that you can even compare the 2, what do you expect the BBC to do? Issue a statement saying Ferguson has been in charge for a thousand games but then bang on about Dario Grady because he has been in charge for more?

Ferguson's achievements, 18 years and 1000 games in charge of one of Europe's top clubs are unlikely to be matched in the foreseeable future, maybe even my lifetime. It is remarkable and deserves media attention. You suggest that the BBC should concentrate more on smaller clubs. Do you also think they should also concentrate on Formula 3000 instead of Formula 1? Amateur rather than pro Golf? Of course not! Some perspective required I think.

Well said that man

It is a FACT that attention will ALWAYS be biased towards those at the top of the tree, rather than those striving to get there. We may not like it, but that's the way it is.

No-one disputes what Dario Grady has achieved but a similar achievement in The Premiership will always be bigger news

I understand what you're saying about Ferguson doing it at the higher level, but given the massive differences in finances, it's difficult to compare the two.

I used to have a soft spot for Crewe cos I remember when they were perennial strugglers in Division 4 as it was known then. They used to play a lot of games on Friday night and the 9 o'clock news always gave the result and they invariably lost. To have dragged that club up to this level and kept them there for a few years is a fantastic achievement imho.

Equally so, dominating the domestic scene for so long and winning a treble is equally remarkable. Whilst he's had a lot to spend, so have many other clubs and they've still failed to deliver.

How many games have you watched the Albion at? I have not been keeping count, but I expect it is about 550.
