During the BBC 4 programme last night, it was mentioned that Alex Dawson (Albion Player 1960's) and Freddie Goodwin (Albion Manager 1968 - 1970) both played for United just ten days after the Munich disaster at Old Trafford, with Alex scoring in the victory in the FA Cup vs Sheffield Wednesday.

I didn't realise they had both played at that time in the 50's for Man Utd. Indeed, Alex was also the last player to score a semi final hatrick, and although one of the Busby babes, did not travel to Belgrade in February 1958.

Dawson made a huge impact in the 1968-69 season, with 17 League goals in 23 appearances. Not bad for someone who came here from Bury on a £9,000 transfer fee.

I didn't play alongside Alex, having left for Baltimore at the end of the previous season.

Is that the real Wilf? Greetings, Sir!

Never saw you play but you were there at during 67/68 which is when I started watching.

Stewart Henderson took on the no.2 shirt & kept it for ages. Are you in touch with many other players from that time/
