Got to be Dowie for me.

Just look at what he's done with a virtually non-existant squad when we played them at the beginning of the season.

They're now already on form for the play-offs and friends who go every week say it's exciting to watch too.
(I live in Manchester and work with lots of Latics fans)

Hoddle has seen us play loads but It's got to be a joke.

He's got to win the lads over and I can't see it.

Ian Dowie has to be the man for the job... knows how to manage well on a shoe-string...

With Merson Playing we wouldn't need a manager to win this division!

However, I don't think we'd be set up very well to actually last more than one season in div 1!

Personally I think we have the personnel in place to win this division already. Maybe a few more utility players that WE actually own would be nice. Stick someone at the helm who can shout a bit and we'll be fine.

I think it is worth taking our time on this as Booker is more than able to guide this team to the top come next may. What we need is a manager who is going to be in it for the long haul to realise the full potential of this club and not jump ship at the first opportunity of a "better" job. I also think that whoever does sign for us says as much in the press conference.

I know it won't mean much but at least he'll feel worse for leaving in 12 months time, after we've put him in the shop window by winning our 3rd championship in four years!

Who would want to manage a team at the top of the league and about to start work on a new stadium anyway?

Bill Turnbull on BBC breakfast news was interviewing an England fan about tomorrows match.

This fan is coming to Withdean tomorrow to watch the Grimsby match so from England the conversation went on to talk about Brighton.

Bill knew all about us (apparently a fan of Wycombe Wanderers)

Rix is a top quality coach, but a rubbish manager.

Dowie would be my choice, but like many would feel awkward about attracting him away from Oldham, whether he's under contract or not.

Rix nearly got Portsmouth relegated. That's all that interests me, not his pervy tendencies. Just the fact that he's rubbish.

Joe Kinnear doesn't seem to be getting much credit on here. GOt Luton promoted, was only sacked because some nutcase took control of the club, kept Wimbledon going for years and was linked with the Spurs job plenty of times. Plus he played for the Albion years ago.

Let's face it, if he's managed Luton and Wimbledon, he's going to be used to working with hired facilities, an uncertain set up and a crappy stadium isn't he? Maybe he'd be less likely to do a runner at the first sign of a better offer.

Worse case scenario: Barry Lloyd (not on the list though).
