It wasn't that we could directly blame East for our shortcomings. It's just that he spoiled the whole tone, (lack of) rhythm and equity of proceedings. Perhaps he could 'do a Pompey' and go straight from PL to L2 without passing Go?

Hopefully Mark Clattenburg's defection to Saudi Arabia, means that the Premier League won't be able to spare us any of their 'Elite' referees for a bit.

Naylor's judgment isn't too bad, his writing is awful. Exile is good at both, and has now revealed a further string to his bow. I also sit in the West Upper, and that might have something to do with seeing the game similarly (e.g. March penalty incident). I also love Warren and JC, and am somewhere in between them and Exile regarding Roger East.
PS Tuesday night was frustrating, but we are now well and truly in squeaky-bum time. It's come earlier this season. Let's hope that the familiarity and experience from last season will pull us through.
