It does my head in that a disproportionate number of Brighton fans that get on on National radio or tv come across as either a complete mong or they miss so many basics about our great club that they're an embarrassment. This being the latest example....Talk sport

FFS, who doesn't know why we're called Seagulls?

So, if you're representing "us" in the national media, think of it like a 30 second commercial. You MUST get as many of the following BASICS into your alloted airtime and have a MINIMUM knowledge of our great club in case you get asked questions e.g. any BHA fan:

- must get a derogatory remark in about Palace, preferably witty AND offensive (e.g. a recent radio 5 caller managed to get "shit brown" in as an example of what the away end colouring will be at the Amex when the scum come down next season before getting cut off - that's what we want!)

What others are there? This thread is devoted to such BASICS / MINIMUMs.

I was there in the 70s & 80's when the rivalry was at it fieriest, but still don't get the hatred. there rivals not an enemy.

I couldn't agree more PS, I listened in complete dis belief, I also put up a link last night as I felt the same as you. The guy was an embarrassment. Then Goughie came up with a load of crap about how Palace are a much bigger club than us.

So was I but who said anything about enemy and hatred? I love to LOATH our RIVALS; as do the majority of BHA fans and Palace v.v.

This is dedicated to Barry from Portslade who by all accounts embarrassed his club and fellow supporters on talksport tonight, 19th July after completely ignoring this thread several weeks ago.

Once again it demonstrates the need to tighten existing regulation governing those fans allowed to speak about BHA on national talkshows. For sure, there will be many more in the run up to the Donny game; media outlets will be falling over themselves to interview seagull supporters so an URGENT review is required.

I propose Lord B heads up this supporters task-force.

In the meantime, if you're a complete eejet, please assist the club by staying off the radio and television. Or at least claim you're from Croydon.

Other criteria fans are obliged to follow:
- if you look like red rum in the teeth department, again, resist the mic being thrust in your direction (this includes radio) on the 6th August. Proceed to your seat and let an attractive young lady say her piece to the nation instead.
- if a plastic, don't you dare reveal you're first team is chelsea, arsenal etc. Other supporters should not be forced into creating an unnecessary scene when demanding the tv/radio crew hand the incriminating memory stick over afterwards simply because you've turned up in your samsung/emirates finest and indirectly humiliated us on a day many fans have literally DIED waiting for!

I'm sure there are other criteria...

Barry likened us to another small club, Crawley. Made it seem like a football backwater since the age dot, ala, MK or Reading.

Barry forgot massive crowds in phases in the past, FACup Final, Div 1.

Won't be getting a job for the tourist board or Albion PR.
