Just messaged Andy Naylor on twitter about the lack of Vicente in the matchday squad, apparently 50-50 to play but as the title suggests, the club are losing patience with an unfit Vicente.

If he ends up being our 'luxury player' I'd be happy with that. Even if he only plays half our games this season, I'd still rather we kept him. Still a treat to watch when he does play.

I'm not sue where the news is here.
Vicente is a luxury player who is not going to be fit for even half of a season, that's why he's playing at Brighton and not Liverpool. But when he IS fit he starts here, and that suits him. It also suits us because when he does play it's a joy to watch one of the most talented players to ever pull on the stripes.
The club losing patience with him? I very much doubt that, as his inability to remain 100% fit for any length of time isn't news to them either, so why would they be losing patience. Having said that I'm sure from time to time you could get a bit of a sigh, or disappointed air from someone at teh club when they say he won't be available, which could - if you are a journo looking for a story - be mis-interpreted as a loss of patienec.
It is what it is, he's a superbly talented player who has dropped to us, BECAUSE of his inability to play enough for bigger clubs to want him. I'm perfectlyhappy with that, and just lap up each and every opportunity I get to see him play. Sometimes my eyes just follow him around the pitch for mnutes on end, and like the old Sky Playercam.

I agree even as a luxury player he will play an important role in our team pushing for promotion. If you look at nothing else the two premium spanish signings bruno and lopez have both mentioned how they know of brighton because of vicente, that is positive and vicente helps create the image we want of the team.
He wants to go home, he didn't even want to come back, so it's kind of unsurprising he's got these "injuries". Can't see it improving as we head into our lovely Winter

Really? Don't see that we are in any different position to how we were at the start of last season, and I would rate his contribution a success over the whole season. I think his deal is bound to have a large portion of appearance money / pay per play in it, so I don't think a longer deal would represent a big risk.

Orlandi seems to be a 'Vicente' type of player, can play wide but also be the creative midfielder, both have fitness problems too. I wonder if Orlandi is here to do that sort of role especially if Vicente isn't fit or decides to move on? Would be good to see him benefit from being around Vicente in the squad.
I will be curious to see what happens when they are both fit - will they both appear on the pitch at the same time? Especially as we still have three wide men ie Lopez, Buckley and KLL. The keeper and back four pick themselves and I presume the midfield of choice would be Crofts, Bridcutt, Vicente or Orlandi and one of the wide players. Presumably CMS and Dobbie will feature up front but where does that leave Barnes? A nice luxury of riches type problem for Gus to ponder. Certainly our bench is going to look pretty decent.

Wouldn't mind extending his contract but not for more money, was my point.
Looking at the signings yesterday Gus is looking beyond him. If he plays great, if not no big deal.
That's how it looks to me.
