ALBION are interested in borrowing Watford striker Matej Vydra.
The Seagulls are among numerous clubs at home and abroad keen to land Vydra on loan, a source close to the player has claimed to The Argus.
But no decision has been made yet by Watford on whether to allow the livewire 23-year-old to make a temporary move.
Albion are aiming to add two more attacking players to the squad before the transfer window closes next Tuesday.
The former West Brom forward wants regular football after being left out of the Czech Republic squad due to his inactivity.
Other Premier League clubs are interested in Vydra but Watford do not want to be left with egg on their face by allowing him to leave for a rival.
Albion are among several Championship clubs to express an interest, according to the source, together with teams in La Liga and the Bundesliga.
Vydra had 90 minutes in Watford’s 1-0 defeat at Preston last night in the Capital One Cup.
Asked after last night’s game at Walsall whether he expected more transfer activity in the coming days, Albion boss Chris Hughton said: “We are still hoping to do something incoming before the end of the window.”
