Albion boss Hughton bidding to get balance right in fight to stay up
First published in Albion by Andy Naylor, Chief sports reporter
Albion boss Chris Hughton says he is still trying to find the right balance in his team’s fight for Championship survival.
The Seagulls have drawn a blank in three of their six league games under Hughton and kept a clean sheet in two.
The last four matches have included 3-2 scorelines at home to Ipswich and Nottingham Forest but no goals away to Blackpool and Cardiff.
Hughton said: “We’ve gone from contrasting performances to playing very well against Ipswich at home and not so well against Forest. We didn’t deserve to lose but conceded three goals so it is about getting that balance.
“In the Cardiff game we certainly got part of that balance by being defensively as good and stable as we were as a team but then it’s about breaking free of that and giving us really good opportunities to score as well.
“The teams in the best form and at the top of the division have struck that balance the best.”
