Listening to people talking about the sad passing away of Cloughie tonight, and the excellent Pat Murphy, Mike Ingham and Sir Bobby of Robson all had kind word to say about the great man.

Then it came to Alan Green who is commentating at Old Trafford tonight, and he started parping on about Cloughie not caring about who he offended, did not care about what he said etc etc. He grudgingly said that Clough was in the best six managers of the modern era, along with Shankly, Ferguson, Paisley, Hinshelwood and Stein, but clearly the words stuck in his throat.

Green is a talentless parasitical gobshyte who has made no contribution to the game whatsoever, unlike Clough, who brought back two European Cups (when it was a proper cup and you had to win the league or be the holders to win it, unlike Ferguson who won it with a team that finished third the previous season). Why doesn't he sod off back to reporting on Coleraine v Linfield rather than be a constant stain on football in this country.

Disrespectful little shit.

Cloughie was a big head, but in an acceptable manner. He was first and foremost a fan of peoper football, keep it on the deck, pass to feet, don't give the referee lip etc.

The poor bloke is not yet in the ground yet Green took it upon himself to make snide remarks about the Cloughmeister.

When he got it wrong, he always did it in style. Who can forget our 8-2 home defeat to Bristol Rovers, 6-1 to Blackburn and 4-0 to Walton and Hersham under his leadership.

However he had more charisma in his arsehole than Green has in his whole body.

El Pres - I heard that and did think it was a tad mealy-mouthed, but Clough was an arrogant bloke whose now humerous statements were not always that funny at the time.

He was just pulling back from the usual sainthoods offered up when a public figure dies.

Alan Green is a twat - dreadful commentator and general idiot who ruins the games he does by harping on and on about the referee, which is of little use to people listening on the radio. If he can't recognise Clough for being the greatest manager England has seen, then that only further proves his stupidity.

It's fair to say that not everyone was seduced by Clough. Ferguson had some fairly sharp stuff to say about him in his autobiography, so was understandably a bit awkward and less than effusive when asked about him before the match last night.

It's just all about respect on a day like yesterday. If you didn't like the guy, keep schtum rather than dissing him on the day of his death.

Alan Green is a twat: he thinks the world starts and ends with the Premiership. There are a number of times I've heard him taking the p*ss out of smaller clubs.

It's a shame about Green, he used to be good when he was first on the radio, but is now, as everyone has said, a complete twat. If it's not the big three or Champions League, he's not bothered and has disappeared up his own 'I'm Mr Controversial' arse.

This maybe why they didn't get on.

DCI Biscuit does it again.

That's amazing. Listen, if you're not busy maybe you could get up to south London and have a look at the clear-up rates for petty theft and car break-ins.

Green is an utter twat. All he ever does is slag off
Referees and linesmen.
He has as Tooting puts it 'disappeared up his own
arse' and he can stay there as far as I'm concerned.

I reckon they could play the same tape of the fat Norn Oyrish stroker for every Man Utd commentary game and no-one would notice. The guy is a tool.

Personally I like Alan Green. I know he moans a bit, but a lot of games in the premiership are dross. He should get out more and watch some Coca Cola League action - it might cheer him up a bit
