Played both right and left, and provided the assist for the goal. Not the greatest of games, mind.

A bit more now the game has finished.

The player he reminded me most of is Knockaert with a bit of Izquierdo thrown in; an offensive winger who is happy to take on his man (although without so many tricks, and more often at speed). Didn't appear interested in defensive duties. Started on the right but moved over to the left and stayed there for the majority of the game. Was in or around the box quite a lot with the ball, more as the game went on. His decision making was criticised by the Eurosport commentators and I agree with them up to a point but a fair few times he created chances that would have been put away by better sides. That said, he had a few chances himself and failed to take any of them.

The game felt a bit like a typical U-19 game; lots of pace and effort but not a lot of class or brains. As such, hard to tell how he'd do in the premier league from that outing.

Analysis
BBC Africa's Nick Cavell

For a long time it looked like we'd have the first 0-0 of the tournament. It was a very poor derby. For much of the game it looked like a training session.

The one difference between the two sides was one man - Percy Tau - the Brighton striker who's been out on loan. He was the only man who looked like he could make a difference and indeed it was his corner that made the only goal of the game.

South Africa are one step closer to the knockout stages but Namibia will need to step up if they are to have any chance of making it through.

Riveting football today at AFCON

Mauritania v Angola 0-0
Cameroon v Ghana 0-0
Benin v Guinea-Bissau 0-0

(not to mention Uruguay 0-0 Peru in the Copa America)

Just checking now to see whether we had any scouts present looking for our striker reinforcements...

That forward was a bit quick! Having said that, our reserve centre back needs to stay over there.

If you see it from another angle, he showed no desire whatsoever to win the ball. Dunk and Duffy would of ripped him a new one for defending like that. Needs massive improvement to get anywhere near first team squad!

Percy Tau in action tonight for South Africa. Just need to avoid defeat to go through. 0-0 at halftime.

Guardian MBM:
34 mins: Oooof! Nearly a goal for South Africa! Percy Tau checks onto his left foot, scampers across the edge of the area and shoots just wide of the far post!
