A lad I know played for them last season, though not sure whether he played for the first team. their manager used to be a coach at my old club. Not sure if he is still in charge though,
Their midfielder, Lee Sidwell, was player of the season last year, and brother of a certain player for Reading that played for Arsenal once (and apparently had a spell at your place as well )
Don't know if you care but I have been several times and I am always made welcome, even in a County top. They have trmendous respect for Brighton, you went through shit like they did a few years ago and came out the other side. So did they.
Also a shareholder and a trust member.
They are one of the friendliest teams I have ever been to.
I went the day Brighton played franchise Wimbledon, fantastic day out, impossible to buy yourself a drink there were so many Wimbledon fans grateful for our support. It was almost embarassing at times. Conference in 2006, the league in 2007...
Up the AFC. Ive bought £180 worth of shares as I sit next to a fan at work. They will pay a dividend equivelent to a savings account interest rate so although not that liquid your not as such down on the deal and hell, its a good cause.
Went to their first match at Sutton and to their home game against Cove.
The Cove game was exactly as MK Gull says - awash with hospitality.
Hardest thing about the Cove trip was being invited on to Southern Counties Radio by Ian Hart the previous Saturday to "justify boycotting the Albion match" and finding that he'd lined up Charlie Oatway to argue against me.
As I tried to say at the time, we weren't boycotting the Albion, we were showing solidarity with AFC Wimbledon.
Much easier was the interview I did for Norwegian TV who turned up at Kingsmeadow to ask what Albion fans thought of football franchising.
I've seen them play a number of times as they're one of the teams we cover, top of the league at the moment with 4 wins out of 4, the league is theres for the taking this season
No they didnt go up as they finished third and only the top two were considered for promotion, withdean have lost 4 out of 4 this season and AFC should have it sewn up by Christmas
