Anyone really. I do not know how much to ask because at the moment I do not know how much it is going to cost. Will know more when I have spoken with printers.

So when Focus DIY or UKIP say they'd like to take half a page ?????
:D

Seriously, Richie, you have to have some sort of ethical guidelines because the advertising says something about the fanzine! And also, advertisers can, to some extent, can interfere with editorial control. Best to go for known "Albion-friendly" businesses probably. But when you've spoken to the printer you'll know whether you need ads and can sort a rate card/guidelines out.

I obvioulsy wouldnt go putting UKIP or BNP in there, obviously all adverts will go through us first so we can say whether we accept or not. Just as a guideline Roz, how much did it cost before? I was hoping for 36 pages this time. A rough idea? Perhaps to print around 600.

If anyone knows of any 'albion friendly' companies I would appreciate their contact details.

I was thinking of approaching places like 'the concorde' etc to perhaps put a gig listing in or certain Brighton pubs or something.

700 copies of the 24-page first edition cost £600. Using the same price per page formula would add another £300 for a 36-pager but do check my arithmetic here! In reality it might not add that much but I'd have thought around £150-200 minimum. Richard's the fellow to give you the definitive answer and quote though.

As for finding Albion-friendly companies, get a copy of a matchday programme and - somewhere near the back, you'll find a double page spread entitled "Friends of the Albion - Good Business Directory".

The key to attracting advertisers will depend on the price of advertising - for example, I'd advertise if it was cheap! On the other hand, if it's really cheap you've got to weigh up the revenue achieved against the time spent generating it!

So, give over a whole page/two pages to adverts.

Small starting at £20, to half page spreads at like £50?

Somthing like that yeah Biscuit. How about instead of you paying £20 for a small advert, that on the page where you are doing articles etc, we put 'Biscuit, brought to you by www.whatever...'

Whatever's easiest mate. I don't want to tred of toes. If you think thats better I really dont mind.
