Hawkins and El Abd
I groaned out loud last night listening to Player when Bennett won his free kick outside the box, and Johnny Cantor said "Adam Virgo is stepping up...." I had visions of the ball flying over the railway bridge behind Withdean and coming down somewhere along London Road, or nestling in the front garden of some residence on Wayland Avenue behind the away support.
Imagine my relief when the young nipper himself took it and rattled the onion bag.
Virgs has the touch of a rapist
Virgs and Tunnicliffe, elphick needs to be dropped to give him a kick up the back side
Odd that - we get our first clean sheet in a while, and some are calling for a completely different CB partnership all together. Even more bizarrely, I can't disagree either. There are some good looking options at the back, and the Wright/Tunncliffe partnership is the one I'd most like to see. So many different combinations to try, but obviously the plan is to find some consistency and get a settled back-line, so probably not the best idea to be experimenting all season long.Tunnicliffe was more than unlucky to be dropped yesterday would be my first choice centre back. Also like to see Jake Wright given a go at centre back with him, bring a nice bit of balance
I dont want to see Jake Wright in the back four only as an emergency as I think that he is a liability which ever position he plays and was just a panic buy by RS at the begining of the season. I think that we have better options at both left back, obviously with Jim McNulty and centre back with Virgo,. Elphick and Tunnicliffe.
In fact I would send Wright to a div 2 club on loan for a month to get some games under his belt.
Despite the fact it was up the other end of the pitch ( away supporters end ) !!!!!![]()

The question is, does Andrew Whing deserve a place when he's fit?

Me too. Bens Grandad sees him as a liability which can only be a recommendation in my book as he is as good a judge of a footballer as US is of a horse.
I do not think that Tunnicliffe was actually "dropped". He played with Wright at Orient in the previous mid-week game and was sensibly rested as all very young players have to be to prevent burn out later in the season.
